Cancer institute backers 'open arms' at fundraiser

A 1980s Journey concert was "Faithfully" re-created -- power ballads and all -- at RockStar Lounge on April 7 at Cajun's Wharf. Resurrection, a Journey tribute band from Nashville, Tenn., performed for about 400 guests at the fundraiser for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences' Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.

Guests with VIP tickets w

ere able to meet and have photos made with the band and enjoy specialty cocktails and hors d'oeuvres on the restaurant's deck overlooking the Arkansas River. Cajun's bartender Stephanie Yetmar created several drinks for the event including "Don't Stop Believing in the '80s" and a "Faithful-tini." Show time brought the crowd down to the stage and dance floor to hear Resurrection play many of Journey's hits.

The Envoys, headed by Bill Woodyard IV, hosted the fundraiser. Members of the group are supporters and advocates of the institute "with a shared appreciation, gratitude, and interest in the Cancer Institute's efforts to defeat cancer," according to the institute's website. RockStar Lounge raised about $71,000 for the cause.
