'Godzilla Eats Vegas!'
The Little Rock Wind Symphony will endeavor to keep a monster from devouring Sin City in "Godzilla Eats Las Vegas!," 7:30 p.m. today, Second Presbyterian Church, 600 Pleasant Valley Drive, Little Rock. University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College, in partnership with the Arkansas Educational Television Network, will host a screening of the documentary American Masters -- Maya Angelou: And Still I Rise, 9:30 a.m. and 12:15, 3 and 6 p.m. today in the Center for Humanities and Arts Theater, main campus, 3000 W. The Delta Cultural Center will offer "Reflection and Reconciliation: The Elaine Massacre," an examination of the 1919 deaths of an estimated 200 black people and five white ones in a so-called race riot, 2 p.m. Sunday at Beth El Heritage Hall, 406 Pecan St. at Perry Street, Helena-West Helena. Murry's tryouts
Murry's Dinner Playhouse, 6323 Colonel Glenn Road, Little Rock, will hold open auditions for adults and children 5 and older, 6:30 p.m. Monday for the second half of its 2017 season, including the musical The Wizard of Oz. Prepare a family-appropriate comedic monologue and 16 bars -- chorus and verse -- of a song (and provide sheet music for the accompanist). There will be a short dance call for children at the end -- wear appropriate shoes -- and you'll need tap shoes if you're auditioning for the Tin Man. Provide a head shot and resume if you have one.
