First Baptist Church in Fayetteville, 20 E. Dickson St., presents the Kobras for Christ speaking at the 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. worship services Sunday. Members of the congregation, the Gonzalez family will share testimony as to how they were able to leave a life of gangs and drugs to share the gospel.

Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Northwest Arkansas in Fayetteville, 2901 E. Zion Road, Suite 17, presents the Rev. Amy Schifrin speaking at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. worship services Sunday. Schifrin is president of the North American Lutheran Church Seminary in Ambridge, Penn., which the local congregation supports. Schifrin also will speak about the seminary during the fellowship hour between services, beginning at 9:15 a.m.

Schifrin serves as an associate professor of liturgy and homiletics at the seminary. She has authored several publications and her research interests include hymnody and liturgical music, pastoral formation, eucharistic prayer and theology.

Mount Sequoyah Assembly in Fayetteville, 150 N. Skyline Drive, offers the "Awaken" wellness and yoga festival May 6-7. In addition to yoga classes, sessions include a juicing workshop and a mala-making workshop. Cost is $55 for one day or $100 for both days, with lunch included. "The Kid Zone" is free.

Sequoyah United Methodist Church in Fayetteville, 1910 N. Old Wire Road, presents "Navigating the Path to Retirement." The four-part series includes sessions with Bill Tenison speaking on Medicare and supplementary insurance, Monday; Don Baker with First Financial Services, speaking on financial security, May 1; and Sara Bartlett, a senior care consultant, speaking on housing stability, May 8. BENTON COUNTY

Bentonville Islamic Center, 1801 S.W. Second St., presents several events this weekend.

Terry Holdbrooks speaks on his experience in "A Soldier's Journey to Peace in Islam" at 8:15 p.m. today. Holdbrooks represents the Muslim Legal Fund of America, which will hold a fundraiser during the event.

The Islamic community joins Congregation Etz Chaim, First Christian Church of Bentonville and WaterWay in the Abraham Peace Walk from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. The 4.4-mile walk starts at WaterWay, 4074 S.W. H St., breaks for snacks at 10 a.m. at Lake Bentonville and ends with a barbecue lunch and children's activities at the Islamic Center.

The Islamic Center also holds an open house of its renovated mosque and a presentation by Khalil Meek, executive director of the Muslim Legal Fund during the closing event of the Abraham Walk.

The Neighborhood Church in Bentonville, 2003 S.W. Regional Airport Road, meets for Theology and Pizza, a men's ministry, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bike Rack Brewing Co. in Bentonville.

The church plans a parking lot sale May 19-20, with proceeds to benefit Mission: Guatemala. Donated items are accepted, with pickup of larger items available.

Unity Church of the Ozarks, 902 S.W. Second St., Suite E, Bentonville, offers a seven-week advanced course on prosperity consciousness building from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each Wednesday. The class considers beliefs of abundance, happiness, success and living in harmony with spiritual law.

Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E. Lancashire Blvd., currently accepts registration for a summer arts camp June 19-23. The camp, for children entering first to sixth grades, includes classes on hand chimes, guitar, line dancing, card making, watercolor collage, weaving, junk sculpture and more. Cost is $10 per student, with scholarships available for families enrolling multiple children. Registration closes June 1.

Bella Vista Lutheran Church, 1990 Forest Hills Blvd., presents its Celebration Choir in a spring concert at 4 p.m. Sunday. The Risen Christ will be performed, with orchestra accompaniment.

The Shepherd's Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Friday. The pantry needs donations of toilet paper, paper towels, facial tissues and clean juice bottles and $5 coupons for Dollar General.

The church offers a special worship service at 11 a.m. May 2 for those unable to attend a regular service. Lunch is served after the service, and transportation is available.

The Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista, 1880 Forest Hills Blvd., offers Dinner Church at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the fellowship hall. An informal worship service begins the evening, followed by a meal.

The church concludes its Lenten study at 2 p.m. Thursday, with the church pastors leading the study of Aging Matters: Finding Your Calling for the Rest of Your Life by R. Paul Stevens.

The Ladies Birthday Luncheon meets at 11:30 a.m. Friday to celebrate those having birthdays this month.

The Care and Share trailer from Gravette will sit in the church parking lot May 1-2, collecting gently used donations for its thrift-store.

The church will host the Bella Vista mayor's prayer breakfast at 7 a.m. May 4. Tickets are $5.

New Life Christian Church in Bella Vista, 103 Riordan Road, begins a new series of Bible study during the 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. worship services Sunday. The study is based on The Story: The Bible as One Continuing Story of God and His People by Max Lucado and Randy Frazee. Each person who attends the series will receive a free, hardcover copy of the book.

New Life Students will host a spaghetti dinner and dessert auction as a fundraiser at 5 p.m. May 7. Tickets are $5 per individual or $20 per family. Proceeds go to the junior and senior high "Christ in Youth" worship conferences this summer.

The church accepts registration for its vacation Bible school, "Summer XP," running from 6 to 8:30 p.m. June 4-8. Enrollment for the fall session of Little Sprouts Preschool also is open.

First United Methodist Church in Bella Vista, 20 Boyce Drive, continues Midweek Manna at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. In addition to small group study sessions, crafts and other activities, the church offers a 2-mile hike around the trails planned for Wednesday. A fellowship supper starts the evening, with a suggested donation of $5 for adults, $3 for children younger than 10 and a family maximum of $15.

The United Methodist Men serve a pancake breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. May 5. Cost is $6, with children 5 and younger eating for free.

Bible Reading Ministry International, based in Green Forest, needs readers and other volunteers for the eighth annual Carroll County Bible Reading Marathon, running from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 4-11. The event begins with a picnic at the National Day of Prayer event May 4 on the grounds of The Great Passion Play in Eureka Springs.
