ARKANSAS A LA CARTE

Auxiliary has food, fun for hospital's fundraiser

From sushi to sriracha-flavored caramel popcorn, guests enjoyed a variety of tasty tidbits from some 20 central Arkansas restaurants and caterers on April 13. The offerings were part of Arkansas a la Carte, the spring fundraiser of the Arkansas Children's Hospital Auxiliary. The event took place at Children's Hall on the hospital's campus.

Food was served from tables that lined the walls, and the center of the room was filled with tables of silent auction items including trips, jewelry and hunts. Musical entertainment was provided by Travis Caudell and Rick Martin. New this year was Art a la Carte, a display of original works created by Arkansas Children's Hospital patients along with a visiting professional Arkansas artist.

The auxiliary helps support the hospital through fundraising. Arkansas a la Carte, with about 550 in attendance, raised $120,000 for the hospital. Katharine Allen Adams was event chairman.
