Unfortunately, the round wasn't enough to overcome a slow start Friday as Arkansas failed to advance to the eight-team match play portion of the championships today.

"I'm really proud of our guys for bouncing back with a great round today," Arkansas Coach Brad McMakin said. "We came out firing right out of the gates and played one of the best rounds in recent history."

Alvaro Ortiz and Luis Garza carded 5-under 65s to lead Arkansas on Saturday, while Mason Overstreet shot a 66. Overstreet was the team's top finisher with an even-par 210.

Florida's Alejandro Tosti won a two-hole playoff over Vanderbilt's Patrick Martin to win medalist honors.

Arkansas' three-round score of 19-over was 12th, ahead of only Tennessee (34 over) and Mississippi State (37 over). No. 3 Vanderbilt will enter match play with the No. 1 seed after finishing at 11 under, followed by Texas A&M (5 under), LSU (3 under) and Florida (2 under).

The SEC men adopted a match play format for the last three rounds for the first time this year. The Commodores will match up against No. 8 seed Missouri (12 over), while the Aggies will take on Ole Miss (12 over), LSU will play Alabama (11 over) and the Gators will match up against South Carolina (9 over) in the first round of match play today.
