Political group to meet in Monticello

State legislators will participate in a roundtable discussion about the 91st General Assembly on Tuesday, when the Southeast Arkansas Political Animals Club meets.

At least two legislators had confirmed as of last week: Sen. Eddie Cheatham, D-Crossett, and Rep. LeAnne Pittman Burch, D-Monticello.

Cheatham, 70, a retired educator, has been a state senator since 2013. His district encompasses Ashley, Bradley, Chicot and Drew counties, as well as parts of Cleveland, Desha and Lincoln counties. Cheatham served in the House during five legislative sessions.

Burch, 56, an attorney, is in her first term in the House. She represents parts of Ashley and Drew counties.

The Southeast Arkansas Political Animals Club will begin at noon at the Western Sizzlin restaurant, 436 U.S. 425 North in Monticello.
