Outfielder Aharon Eggleston (Southern Arkansas) went 3 for 3 with 3 RBI for Somerset in the loss. ... Third baseman Zack Cox (Arkansas Razorbacks) was assigned to the Class AA Erie (Pa.) SeaWolves by the Detroit Tigers organization on April 23. Cox started the season in extended spring training at the Tigers' facility in Florida after spending last season with the independent Wichita Wingnuts. ... Pitcher Montreal Robertson (McGehee), who has not pitched since 2015 because of injuries, was released by the Detroit Tigers on April 20. Robertson went 4-10 with 2 saves and a 3.41 ERA in 33 appearances for the Class AA Erie SeaWolves in 2015 and missed all of last season because of injuries. ... Pitcher Andy Ferguson (Arkansas State/Benton) started the season on the disabled list. Ronnie Richardson, the Kansas City Royals' director of minor league operations, said Ferguson is recovering from a right shoulder injury. It's the same shoulder that caused him to start last season on the disabled list, but he returned to the Class AA Northwest Arkansas Naturals and went 0-4 with a 2.87 ERA in 9 starts before going back on the disabled list because of the same shoulder on Aug. 17. ... Outfielder Zach George (Arkansas State/Paragould) started the season with the High-A Bradenton (Fla.) Marauders in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization, but he was assigned to extended spring training on April 11. George played 4 games for the Marauders before being reassigned, going 5 for 12 (.417) with 1 home run, 2 runs scored and 5 RBI. Marauders radio announcer Nate March said George continues to work out and travel with the Marauders despite being reassigned. ... Second baseman Michael Bernal (Razorbacks) was placed on the disabled list by the High-A San Jose Giants on April 18 with an undisclosed injury. Bernal returned to the Giants' lineup Tuesday, going 1 for 4 with a strikeout in a 9-1 loss to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (High-A Dodgers). ... Pitcher James Teague (Razorbacks) started the season with the Class A Delmarva Shorebirds in the Baltimore Orioles organization, but was sent down to the Low-A Aberdeen (Md.) IronBirds on Wednesday. Teague blew a save and eventually took the loss April 23 as the Shorebirds lost 5-4 to the Hagerstown (Md.) Suns (A Nationals) in the second game of a doubleheader. He allowed 2 earned runs on 5 hits, including a home run, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in his only inning of work. Teague was 0-1 with a 6.35 ERA in 5 appearances for the Shorebirds, allowing 8 runs -- 4 earned -- on 12 hits with 4 walks and 5 strikeouts. Opponents were batting .444 against Teague. ... Pitcher Ashur Tolliver (Sylvan Hills) was placed on the disabled list by the Fresno Grizzlies (AAA Astros) on Tuesday with an oblique injury. Tolliver earned a victory April 23 in the Grizzlies' 5-2 victory over the Salt Lake Bees (AAA Angels), in which he had 1 strikeout in two-thirds of an inning. He is 2-0 this season with a 2.70 ERA in 5 appearances, allowing 2 earned runs on 3 hits with batters hitting .130 against him. Team officials were unsure about a timetable for Tolliver's return to the bullpen. ... Shortstop Matt Reynolds (Razorbacks) was recalled by the New York Mets on Wednesday from Class AAA Las Vegas, where he was hitting .300 (15 for 50) in 13 games.
