Argument outside Arkansas gas station ends in fatal shooting, state police say

1:40 P.M. UPDATE:

State police say a shooting at an Arkansas gas station left one person dead Friday morning.

The Marmaduke Police Department was called to the Valero at 11402 U.S. Highway 49 about 10 a.m. for a disturbance call after two people were arguing.

According to a news release, one person shot the other multiple times outside the convenience store during an altercation. The victim was taken to a local hospital and later pronounced dead, state police said.

One person is reportedly in custody as the investigation continues.

No further information was available Friday afternoon.

Marmaduke is a city in Greene County and about 32 miles northeast of Jonesboro.

Authorities say they are investigating after a shooting at an Arkansas gas station Friday morning.

The Marmaduke Police Department said it happened around 10 a.m. at a Valero on Highway 49.

Officers were still at the scene as of 11 a.m. and could not yet say who was injured or whether they have a suspect.

The department said it would provide more information as the investigation continues.
