Greyhound to end Hot Springs stops

HOT SPRINGS -- Greyhound Lines Inc. will cease making stops in Hot Springs at the end of the month, the city announced Wednesday.

A news release from the city said its ticket agreement with the intercity bus line expired at the end of last year. The city sells tickets at Transportation Depot and receives a commission from Greyhound, said Richard Grandon, resident adviser for Hot Springs Intracity Transit.

Grandon said Greyhound has 7:10 a.m., 8:30 a.m., 2:50 p.m., 6 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. scheduled stops at Transportation Depot. The Central Arkansas Development Council in Malvern at 830 W. Moline St. will be the closest Greyhound terminal after the city closes its location.

"Since before [the end of last year], the city has been working intensively with Greyhound to offer assistance in finding an alternate location for their operation," the release said, noting the city will continue to work with Greyhound on finding another location.

Passengers still will be able to buy tickets online at greyhound.com or use the company's mobile application.
