Police identify man shot to death in Little Rock Sunday morning

Little Rock police have identified the victim of a Sunday morning homicide as Vincent James, 48.

Officers found James on the porch outside a home on Main Street around 2:50 a.m., according to a news release.

James was reportedly bleeding from a gunshot wound in each leg. He told police two men approached him as he tried to enter his home. They tried to rob him, he said, then fired and fled.

James walked to a neighbor’s house, where he called 911.

He was taken to UAMS Medical Center to receive treatment for his injuries that did not initially appear to be life-threatening. However, James was pronounced dead at 9 a.m.

The killing is the 41st of the year in the city and the second in two days.

Police are still searching for the two robbers. The investigation is ongoing.
