Bella Vista sets meeting on city's future

BELLA VISTA -- The city of Bella Vista will host a workshop for the Comprehensive Plan 2040 from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 22 at Riordan Hall.

City residents are invited to attend.

The city has contracted with Gould Evans consultants for the project. The team will provide an overview of information it has discovered about the community in the beginning stages of this planning process. Gould Evans representatives will lead participants through small-group exercises and discussions about challenges and opportunities facing the city, according to a news release.

The goal of the meeting is to draft a vision statement, goals and targets to guide desired changes in Bella Vista. Additional meetings will be scheduled as the planning process continues, the release stated.

The plan is a document that creates the framework for land development codes, development standards, infrastructure investments and economic development, and that informs decision-making throughout the city. The plan's purpose is to serve as a framework for planning documents, as well as a policy guide for citizens, developers, staff and elected officials regarding development, the release stated.
