Police: Teen dies after 45-foot fall while volunteering on construction project

ROBBINSVILLE, N.J. — Federal officials are investigating after a 16-year-old Pennsylvania boy fell about 45 feet and died while volunteering on a construction project inside a New Jersey Hindu temple.

NJ.com reported that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration is looking into the fall that killed the Hatfield boy at the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir campus in Robbinsville on Thursday night.

The teen was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, where he died an hour later.

Robbinsville Police Lt. Michael Polaski said the fall appears to be an accident, but it is still under investigation.

The temple offered its prayers and condolences to the boy's family and said it will work with police and other agencies to investigate.

Police have not released the boy's identity.
