U.S. 67/167 lanes, nearby roads close

Continuing work on U.S. 67/167 in Pulaski and Lonoke counties will require another round of overnight lane closures through Saturday, the Arkansas Department of Transportation said.

At the same time, work on the highway's frontage roads, T.P. White and John Harden drives, in the same location also will require intermittent lane closures.

Crews working on U.S. 67/167 between Vandenberg Boulevard in Jacksonville and Arkansas 5 in Cabot will require the inside northbound lane to be closed from 8 p.m. to 1 p.m. daily through Saturday, weather permitting. The southbound inside lane will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Signs and barrels will control traffic, the department said.

Meanwhile, the northbound and southbound lanes of both frontage roads will be closed in multiple areas through 5 p.m. Saturday, also weather permitting. Traffic will be reduced to one open lane controlled with flaggers, the department said.

The work is part of a $79.2 million project to widen a 4.6-mile section of U.S. 67/167 between Jacksonville and Cabot to six lanes from four.
