Griffin to speak to political group

Arkansas Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin will speak at the next Southeast Arkansas Political Animals Club meeting.

The event is scheduled for 12 p.m. Wednesday at Western Sizzlin restaurant, 436 U.S. 425 in Monticello.

Griffin, a Republican, is in his first term as lieutenant governor. From 2011-2015, he was in the U.S. House of Representatives. Griffin was U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Arkansas from 2006-2007. Before that, he was special assistant and deputy director of political affairs in President George W. Bush's administration.
