PAPER TRAILS: 2 chefs from state get cooking on TV competitions; Olivia Newton-John concert rescheduled

COOK LOOK: Paige Ferguson, a seventh-grader at Atkins Middle School, will get cooking on Tuesday's episode of Chopped Junior -- a Food Network youth culinary competition. Proud Superintendent Joe Fisher tells us a watch party will begin at 6 p.m. at the Atkins High School auditorium before the 7 p.m. show.

Speaking of Arkansans on the Food Network, Little Rock chef Donnie Ferneau and team can be seen competing in The Great Food Truck Race at 8 p.m. today. After last week's debut, the trio is still trucking.

SEE LEE: Evanescence, the rock band fronted by Amy Lee of Little Rock, will be touring in support of its new album, Synthesis, to be released this fall. Tickets are on sale for the Synthesis Live tour; however, there are no Arkansas dates.

So Evanescence enthusiasts will need to travel to somewhere like Texas or Tennessee in order to go (to borrow another central Arkansas native's project title) chasing Amy.

NEWTON-JOHN ON: Speaking of concerts, a "Hopelessly Devoted" Olivia Newton-John fan informed us that the singer's postponed June 9 concert at the Oaklawn Finish Line Theater in Hot Springs has been rescheduled for Sept. 29. She discontinued her tour after being diagnosed with a recurrence of breast cancer.

As for why Oaklawn has not yet made an official announcement, media relations manager Jennifer Hoyt explains they're contacting all ticket holders to the original sold-out show for first right of refusal. Any remaining tickets -- and some are expected -- will go on sale at oaklawn.com at 9 a.m. Sept. 12.

In a recent video message, the singer said, "I'm feeling great." We're glad she's "Physical"-ly doing well.

ECLIPSE TIP: Not sure what to do with those ISO-certified solar eclipse glasses after Monday's celestial celebration? Donate them to your nearest Girl Scouts Diamonds office (visit girlscoutsdiamonds.org).

The organization says the glasses "will be sent on to Astronomers Without Borders to be distributed across South America and Asia to aid STEM education in schools for the 2019 solar eclipse." Scouts' honor.

Besides, we have plenty of time to find "Somoa" glasses for the 2024 eclipse here in Arkansas.

POSTS WITH THE MOST: Social media had a feast when spaghetti sauce -- the third course in a string of food-related August traffic snafus -- was spilled by a truck after running off a highway in Camden. This after similar Arkansas incidents involved bourbon and frozen pizza.

A few favorite Twitter responses:

@KempWmatt: "Chef Boyardee might do well to consider taking an alternate route."

@oldprguy: "TripAdvisor gives Arkansas Highways 4 stars for Italian cuisine."

@Bronze5Bjergsen: "Well, that's gonna cost a pretty Penne."
