BEAVER LAKE
Crappie are biting well on the south end of the lake.
Mike Whitehouse at Hickory Creek Marina said trolling with crank baits in the creek arms or in the War Eagle River arm is a good way to fish. Crank baits that run 10 to 15 feet deep are working. A lure with some chartreuse in the pattern is good.
Crappie are also biting Bobby Garland Baby Shads 15 to 18 feet deep around man-made brush piles or submerged timber. Good colors are electric chicken or avocado splatter.
No report on other species.
James Whittle at Hook, Line and Sinker in Rogers said striped bass are biting brood minnows or shad 25 feet deep between Point 5 and the dam. Catfish are biting liver or nightcrawlers fished with rod and reel.
Crappie fishing is fair. Anglers are catching three to seven keepers per trip, Whittle said. Minnows are working best, fished 15 feet deep around brush. Fishing is best south of the Arkansas 12 bridge.
Black bass are hitting top-water lures early. Use big plastic worms or jig and pigs later in the day.
BEAVER TAILWATER
Tom Steinke at Beaver Dam Store said trout fishing is good.
Fly fishermen are doing well with midges fished under an indicator. All colors are working. The top lures are Colorado spoons and Super Dupers. Power Bait is the best trout bait.
On the lake side of Beaver Dam, try top-water lures along points at first light for black bass.
LAKE FAYETTEVILLE
David Powell at the lake office said bluegill and catfish are biting worms four feet deep.
LAKE SEQUOYAH
Mike McBride at the lake bait shop said catfish are biting liver, shad or sunfish. Black bass are hitting spinner baits and buzz baits. Crappie fishing is slow. Try minnows or jigs six to eight feet deep.
SWEPCO LAKE
Kenny Stroud in Siloam Springs said black bass fishing is good early and late with top-water lures. Try plastic worms during mid day.
ILLINOIS RIVER
Stroud recommends using tube baits or grubs for black bass.
BELLA VISTA
Nick Gann at Hook, Line and Sinker said night fishing is best for catching black bass at all Bella Vista lakes. Use deep diving crank baits such as a Bill Norman DD-22 or 10-inch plastic worms. Locate brush piles for the best fishing.
EASTERN OKLAHOMA
The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation reports fair fishing for black bass at Lake Hudson with crank baits, jigs and plastic worms on all areas of the lake.
TABLE ROCK LAKE
The Missouri Department of Conservation reports catfish are biting well on nightcrawlers, stink bait or cut bait. Black bass fishing is fair with spinner baits or plastic worms fished along gravel points. Fish plastic worms 20 feet deep.
