Diaz, Garlick lead Drillers past Naturals

TULSA, Okla. — Yusniel Diaz doubled twice and singled twice, scoring a run and also driving one home as the Tulsa Drillers beat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 9-3 on Tuesday.

Kyle Garlick homered and singled with two RBIs for Tulsa.

NW Arkansas tied the game 1-1 in the second after Parker Morin hit an RBI single, driving in Ryan O'Hearn.

After Tulsa added a run in the second on a home run by Sean O'Connell, the Drillers added to their lead in the third inning when Erick Mejia hit an RBI single, scoring Blake Gailen.

The Drillers later added four runs in the fourth and two in the sixth. In the fourth, Garlick hit a two-run home run, while Johan Mieses hit a two-run single in the sixth.

Tulsa right-hander Andrew Sopko (5-6) picked up the win after allowing one run on five hits over five innings. Opposing starter Emilio Ogando (9-10) took the loss in the Texas League game after a rough outing in which he allowed seven runs and eight hits over 3 1/3 innings.

For the Naturals, Morin singled three times.
