Gailen leads Tulsa to win over Naturals

TULSA, Okla. — Blake Gailen, Yusniel Diaz, Matt Beaty and Drew Jackson recorded three hits each, as Tulsa beat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals 16-0 on Wednesday.

Gailen singled four times, driving home two runs. Diaz homered and singled twice, driving in four runs and scoring three.

Tulsa scored in six different innings in the victory, including the second, when it put up five runs, including a two-run single by Diaz.

Tulsa starter Mitchell White (1-1) picked up the win after allowing two hits over five scoreless innings.

Opposing starter Corey Ray (6-12) took the loss in the Texas League game after giving up seven runs and seven hits over 1 1/3 innings.

The Naturals were held scoreless for the 11th time this season, while the Drillers' staff recorded their seventh shutout of the year.

TRAVELERS 3, CARDINALS 0

Lindsey Caughel tossed a three-hit shutout, leading the Arkansas Travelers to a 3-0 win over the Springfield Cardinals on Wednesday.

Caughel (10-10) struck out two to pick up the win.

Arkansas scored its runs when Willie Argo hit a solo home run in the sixth inning and Seth Mejias-Brean hit a two-run single in the seventh.

Zac Gallen (4-5) went six innings, allowing three runs and five hits while striking out four in the Texas League game.

The Cardinals were held off the scoreboard for the sixth time this season, while the Travelers’ staff recorded their ninth shutout of the year.
