ROGERS -- A Rogers man was arrested Tuesday in connection with firing shots at his wife's vehicle.

Richard Garcia, 38, was being held without bond in the Benton County Jail on Wednesday. He was arrested in connection with aggravated assault, possession of firearm by certain persons and delivery of a controlled substance.

Rogers police went to the area near the intersection of East Kara Lane and Old Wire Road at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday after a caller reported a man came out of a duplex and fired shots at a blue Ford Expedition, according to a probable cause affidavit. The caller reported hearing two shots and the vehicle went south on Old Wire Road.

Police identified Garcia as the shooter, according to court documents.

Guadalupe Aldape arrived at the scene in a green Expedition and told police she's Garcia's wife. Aldape told police she heard one gunshot and her husband fired at her vehicle, according to the affidavit.

Aldape said she came home from work and told her husband he needed to get a job. She then left the home. Aldape told police she was scared when her husband pointed the gun and fired it, according to the affidavit.

Garcia initially told police a friend fired a gun, according to court documents. He later said he fired one shot into the ground after arguing with his wife, according to the affidavit.

Garcia told police his wife's vehicle hit his vehicle when she was leaving, according to the affidavit. Aldape told police she did hit her husband's vehicle.

Prosecutors haven't filed any formal charges against Garcia. Garcia's arraignment is scheduled for 8 a.m. Oct. 9 in Circuit Judge Brad Karren's court.
