Founder's daughter speaks at school's Legacy Luncheon

Dolores Crenchaw Singleton was guest speaker Nov. 14 at the Milton P. Crenchaw Aviation Training Academy's monthly Legacy Luncheon held at the Little Rock Technology Park.

The daughter of the academy's namesake spoke about how her father, a flight instructor for the famed World War II Tuskegee Airmen, stressed the importance of education, saying their family didn't discuss if they were going to college, but where they were going to college.

The academy assists and mentors students in underserved or disadvantaged communities -- who want to pursue careers in the aviation and aerospace industries -- by providing a variety of educational opportunities.

Students, part of a showcase chapter representing the best students at the academy, also spoke during the program and presented Singleton with a gift and bouquet of roses.
