LITTLE RED RIVER The water is low and trout are active and concentrated in shoals and narrow runs. They are biting a wide range of nymphs for fly fishermen and and small stickbaits for spin fishermen. Brown trout colored stickbaits work best. Float fishermen will catch limits of stocker size rainbow trout on PowerBait, PowerEggs and Gulp Alive! prepared baits, especially San Juan worms.

CADDO RIVER Tuesday's rains raised the water level a bit and activated the bass fishing. Smallmouth bass fishing is excellent in the pools and shoals with small plastic lizards and crawdad imitators. Square bill crankbaits are excellent for largemouth, smallmouth and Kentucky bass around rocks and wood cover in the pools. Small crawdad imitators are working well for warmouths.

LAKE MILLWOOD Largemouth bass schooling activities have slightly diminished over the past couple of weeks, but it is best in mid-afternoon. Random schooling activity over the past two weeks by largemouths and spotted bass has been exciting on flats in the lily pads, in creek channels adjacent to these same flats, and in Little River. Bass range from 2-3 pounds on topwaters, Rat-L-Traps, Bass Assassin Shads, Stuttersteps and squarebill cranks. Best colors of Rat-L-Traps and squarebill crankbaits are any shad pattern like the Millwood Magic, chrome/blue, or Ghost Shad. Best places are in the creek channels or where they dump in to the river.
