An Arkansas man who escaped from the Hot Spring County jail on Sunday has been recaptured.

The sheriff's office said in a statement that Aaron Singleton, 27, was arrested Thursday in Malvern.

Singleton was originally arrested Saturday night by the Malvern Police Department on charges of battery and improperly holding someone, Cash said. He escaped from jail after overpowering a sheriff's deputy who went into his cell, authorities said.

A $500 reward has been offered for anyone with information leading to the arrest of an Arkansas man who has been on the run for four days, the Hot Spring County sheriff said Thursday.

Aaron Singleton, 27, escaped from the Hot Spring County jail shortly before noon Sunday when a jailer went into his cell to retrieve a mop and was overpowered in a struggle, according to Sheriff Mike Cash.

Singleton was originally arrested Saturday night by the Malvern Police Department on charges of battery and improperly holding someone, Cash said.

He said the sheriff's office is still following up on leads to find the escapee.
