Prince's spirit alive and well with Vikings

Prince, the rock performer and Minnesota native who died in 2016, has assisted the Minnesota Vikings during their eight-game winning streak, according to a psychic.

Psychic Ruth Lordan has some advice for Minnesota Vikings Coach Mike Zimmer. Maybe he should listen.

The last time Lordan gave Zimmer something, the Vikings won. Then they won again and again and again and again and again and again and again.

Eight consecutive games. Eight consecutive victories.

Lordan is convinced it's no coincidence. She's the Edina, Minn.-based psychic who gave Zimmer a crystal ball just days after the Vikings lost to the Detroit Lions, 14-7, on Oct. 1.

The Vikings haven't lost since, which comes as no surprise to Lordan.

"Why should I be surprised?" she asked.

The crystal ball came with a large purple veil and a little bit of magic.

Loradan's advice has to do with keeping that magic flowing because the way she sees it, if the magic continues, so will the winning streak.

"I heard from a TV reporter that Mike Zimmer had it on his desk," Lordan told Bob Sansevere of the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "I think it would be good for him to keep it there. Don't fix what isn't broken. And remember, it's the crystal ball plus the purple veil."

The veil was given to Lordan by the wife of Doctor Fink, who played keyboards for Prince's band, The Revolution.

"They keep the purple magic alive," said Lordan, who believes Prince's spirit is doing his part to help the Vikings. "I got the crystal ball from Italy. I put lots of energy and vibrations in it. It's infused with lots of good luck. And it seems to be working."

The Pioneer Press learned Zimmer keeps the crystal ball on a piece of furniture next to his desk in his office at the Vikings' Winter Park, Minn., headquarters.

"That's even better," Lordan said. "I think it would be good for him to keep it there."

Lordan dropped off the crystal ball at Winter Park for Zimmer after hearing him tell reporters that he didn't have a crystal ball to see when quarterback Sam Bradford might be healthy enough to play.

"When I heard he didn't have a crystal ball, I decided to give him one," Lordan said. "I knew it could do more than help him with Bradford. It does keep negative energy away when you use it right. It's a good one, a pure one, and I put a lot of the right energy in it."

If Zimmer stares into the crystal ball, will he see the Vikings winning the Super Bowl?

"I want them to go all the way," Lordan said. "The Vikings have never won a Super Bowl. When I got the crystal ball, I put it in there to change their luck and it's worked. It's changed their luck."

Frost is in the air

Brad Dickson of the Omaha (Neb.) World-Hearld gave his unique spin on Nebraska's hiring of former quarterback and Central Florida Coach Scott Frost as the Cornhuskers' next coach.

"Frost is coming back to Nebraska. Not since Neil Armstrong uttered, 'One small step for man...' have I felt such emotion," Dickson wrote.

"It was initially reported that Frost had accepted the job during overtime of the UCF-Memphis game. I am not making that up. This may explain why my 'Bring Bret Bielema to Lincoln' rally was sparsely attended Friday night.

"It's reported that Frost will be paid $5 million per year for seven years. As part of his contract, he also gets Chimney Rock, the governor's mansion and half of Grand Island."
