Escapee from Arkansas jail caught in Malvern

After four days on the run, an escaped jail inmate was taken into custody in Malvern on Thursday, according to the Hot Spring County sheriff's office.

Aaron Singleton escaped from the Hot Spring County jail on Sunday when a jailer went into the inmate's cell to get a mop and was overpowered in a struggle, according to Sheriff Mike Cash.

Sgt. Don Moreland of the sheriff's office said authorities found Singleton in an apartment at the Marla Square II Apartments, 825 Sulphur Springs Road, in Malvern. He said authorities entered an apartment and took Singleton into custody.

According to Moreland, authorities found Singleton after receiving tip that he was there.

He said Thursday evening that Singleton is back in the Hot Spring County jail.
