FAYETTEVILLE — About 1,200 undergraduate, law and graduate students have signed up to walk during the fall semester commencement ceremony, the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville announced.
Chancellor Joe Steinmetz will be commencement speaker.
The event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. Saturday and will be held at the university’s Bud Walton Arena.
Officials said doors will open at 7:30 a.m. A pre-ceremony concert will be performed by the Commencement Brass Quintet beginning at 8:30. Organizers ask guests to be seated by 8:45 a.m.
UA, the state’s largest university, reinstated fall commencement in 2011.
