BRENDA LOOPER: Fake news? Bah!

Banish this phrase

By Brenda Looper

This article was published December 13, 2017 at 4:30 a.m.

In about two and a half weeks, we'll know what Lake Superior State University's list of banished words for 2018 contains. I'm betting right now on a specific phrase to top the list, especially considering how much it's been used and abused over the past couple of years: "Fake news."

GeneralMac says... December 13, 2017 at 10:50 a.m.

Recently this newspaper ran an article about Tyson venturing into the " meatless meat" business.

Isn't the term " meatless meat " an oxymoron ?

GeneralMac, meatless meat sounds like an oxymoron, but it might be healthier than real meat, especially if the real meat has lots of fat in it as a result of animals force fed in enclosed spaces without being able to move around as animals naturally have for the last umpteen million years before humans prevented them from moving around because humans can make more money off them if the animals are really, really heavy because the humans get paid for their caged-up animals by the pound.
So what's your beef?
