B-52s' singer makes Change, goes solo at Sticky's

Cindy Wilson, singer-songwriter and founding member of The B-52s, will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $20.

Wilson, a singer who was known for a beehive style hairdo in her B-52s days, has embarked on a new career as an electronic diva. Now 60, on Dec. 1 she released a solo album, Change, on the Kill Rock Stars label. Wilson's publicity materials describe the album as having "echoes of Air, Bjork, Tame Impala and Gary Numan" with an "infectious brand of new-wave electro-pop (she calls) 'Turbo Chill.'"

Carson McHone, -- along with opening act Kevin Kerby -- will perform at 9 p.m. today at the White Water Tavern in Little Rock. Admission is $6.

McHone, a singer-songwriter-guitarist, released her debut self-titled EP in 2013 and she has recorded with Shinyribs, Ray Wylie Hubbard and Mike and the Moonpies. She recently performed at this year's Austin City Limits Festival and the Americana Music Festival.

The Juke Joint Duo, featuring Cedric Burnside and Lightnin' Malcolm, will perform at 9:30 p.m. Friday. Admission is $7.

Winter Soulstice 6's night one show will be held at 9 p.m. Saturday and its night two show will be at 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5.

Justin Patterson and Laura Lynn Danley, who are known as Ten Penny Gypsy, will perform for the kick-off of The Sounds of Unity at 7 p.m. Friday at Unity Church in Little Rock. Admission is by donation.

Patterson and Danley, who have been together since 2010 -- having rebranded themselves this year as Ten Penny Gypsy -- will perform acoustic Americana music. The duo released their self-titled debut CD on Aug. 25.

The Sounds of Unity will continue the third Friday of each month.

The Eskimo Brothers, an alternative country trio based in Nashville, Tenn., play "raw hillbilly music with a bluesy high energy edge," according to publicity materials.

Home Free will perform "A Country Christmas" at 8 p.m. Sunday at Griffin Music Hall. Tickets range from $20 to $229.

Home Free is a five-man a capella country group from Minnesota, formed in 2000. Since 2007, the group has released 10 albums, four of which have Christmas themes. Their most recent CD, Timeless, was released Sept. 22.

In 2013, the group won the NBC-TV reality show competition, The Sing-Off, taking home $100,000 and a Sony recording contract.
