First thought

Christine "I'm not a witch" O'Donnell in Delaware. Todd "legitimate rape" Akin in Missouri. And now Roy Moore in Alabama. The current president of the United States was thisclose to being Hillary Clinton. Remember that the polls showed she'd lose to anybody except Donald Trump--but Republican voters nominated The Donald anyway. If 100,000 people had switched votes in three midwestern states last year, we would have had another Clinton administration. (NB: More than 100,000 people attend the Ohio State-Michigan game every year.)

The first thought about this week's special election in Alabama: Republicans need to be smarter with their primary votes in the future. And nominate those who have the best chances to win in the general election. Democrats certainly understand.
