FISHING HOT SPOTS
MILLWOOD LAKE Crappie fishing is excellent as fish concentrate on deep structure. Anglers are catching big crappie over brush piles using ultralight jigs tipped with various soft plastic lures. Fishing pressure is intense on weekends, but less during the week.
SALINE RIVER (BENTON) Everything is biting brooder minnows. Walleyes are being caught in deep holes, and catfish are biting well below the water treatment facility spillway. Anglers have been catching bass on 4-inch lizards in the green pumpkin and watermelon candy colors, as well as on brooder minnows. A few crappie been caught on No. 6 crappie minnows.
LAKE GREESON Bass are biting well using Bandit 200 and 300 crank baits in crawfish patterns in depths of 8-10 feet around rocky points and drops. Some can also still be caught on flats chasing shad with chrome Booyah One Knockers. Some good numbers have been reported being caught on CC Spoons on flats near creek channels. Booyah Finance Jigs in natural colors are also catching fish on rocky breaks in 20 feet of water. Crappie are biting well in and around brush in the 15-20-foot depth range using Kalin's Grubs or minnows.
