Bentonville kids' necklace sales generate $1,325

BENTONVILLE -- Thomas Jefferson Elementary School raised $1,325 last week through its sales of jingle bell necklaces made by kindergartners, according to a teacher.

The school will set aside $100 to pay for supplies for next year's kindergartners for the project. The other $1,225 will pay for gifts for seven children at the school who are in need this holiday season, according to Cristine Eubanks, a kindergarten teacher.

Kindergartners string together beads, jingle bells and a ball ornament to make each necklace. The necklaces are sold at the school for $1 each.

This was the third year for the project. The sales raised $700 and $1,100 in previous years.
