James E. Bobo
Where I live: Cherry Creek neighborhood of Little Rock
Occupation: Retired from Entergy in June after 38.5 years of service
My favorite space is: My living room, which houses my big leather easy chair and its "accessories": my cellphone, laptop, iPad, newspapers, magazines, books and the TV remote. An awful lot of sports have been watched from the big chair, too. Football is my favorite, although I like to watch golf, basketball, soccer and even hockey. I'm a fan of the Chicago teams: Bears, Cubs, Bulls, and Black Hawks. My dad currently resides in Chicago.
Why? Although I have a home office, this space is my command center: for conducting business, staying on top of daily news, watching sports, handling household issues, chatting with friends, following social media -- I can basically sit there and rule my world ... or run my star ship! Lastly, its a place where I just happily talk to my grandkids and watch them "do stuff" when they visit ... all 14 of them. The younger ones love to jump in my chair if I step away, only to have me come back and gently sit on them until they laugh to tears! With their ages ranging from 14 down to 2, there is never a dull moment!
If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Have all of the grandkids over more often, at the same time. And I would replace my big leather easy chair with a recliner. (Oh, wait -- that's two!)
