Companies earn safety awards

The Arkansas Department of Labor, the Arkansas Insurance Department and the Arkansas Workers' Compensation Commission recently announced award recipients for on-the-job safety records.

CH2M, 1400 N. Fox Hunter Road in Fayetteville, received an 11 Year Accumulative Safety Award. The company's 48 employees have 11 years without missing a day of work due to a work-related injury or illness between Sept. 21, 2006, and Sept. 21, 2017.

CH2M's Berryville location, 1000 W. Cedarvale, earned a Four Year Accumulative Safety Award. The location's five employees accumulated four years without a lost day between Sept. 1, 2013, and Oct. 1, 2017.

George's Further Processing at 701 Porter Ave. in Springdale, a division of George's Inc, received a 1 Million Man Hour Safety Award. The plant's 850 employees accumulated 1 million work hours without a lost day due to a work-related injury or illness between Nov. 17, 2016, and Nov. 2, 2017.

Dighero launches firm

Case Dighero is starting a new consulting firm in January called Edible Culture. The venture focuses on independent projects on media, writing and hospitality consulting and will be based in Fayetteville.

Dighero began as culinary director with Crystal Bridges in 2010 and subsequently served as director of culinary events and programs for the last year. He will continue to work with Crystal Bridges.
