Athlete Sean Michael Flanagan, who has been committed to Arkansas since June, was one of 10 prospects who officially visited the Hogs this weekend.

“It was a great time meeting all the new coaches, all the new commits and people that aren’t committed yet,” Flanagan said. “I had a great time with them, a great time.”

Flanagan, 6-1, 191 pounds, 4.47 seconds in the 40 yard dash, chose the Hogs over offers from Oklahoma State, Missouri, Kansas and others. He made an official visit to Oklahoma State last weekend.

He plans to sign with the Hogs or Cowboys at 10:30 am on Wednesday, the first day of the early signing period. Being able to hang out with former Charleston star and Arkansas quarterback Ty Storey and other players was the highlight of the visit.

“Just hanging out with the current players,” Flanagan said. “They’re awesome guys, cool guys. I got to hang out with my hometown man, Ty Storey. That was fun. Byron Keaton was a cool guy, too.”

He saw action on both sides of the ball for the Tigers, who went 12-1 this season. He recorded 37 carries for 212 yards, 6 touchdowns and 41 receptions for 826 yards and 12 touchdowns on offense. He had 70 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 sack, 3 quarterback hurries, 1 interceptions, 2 pass deflections at linebacker.

Flanagan also returned 6 kickoffs for a 44.7 average, 2 touchdowns and 10 punt returns for a 31.1 average. He believes he’ll play on defense if he stays with the Hogs.

“Probably on the defensive side of the ball, but they don’t have a DC,” said Flanagan, who's being recruited to play safety for the Hogs. “It’d be nice to know who it will be, but we’ll wait and see.”
