Police searching for suspect in attempted Little Rock holdup find man wanted in separate robbery case

Authorities investigating an attempted robbery of a Little Rock convenience store on Friday cleared a possible suspect but found he was wanted on a warrant in a different robbery case, according to a police report.

Officers began investigating after a man tried to rob the E-Z Mart at 1321 S. Main St. around 1:30 p.m. He reportedly told the clerk it was a "stick-up" but fled when the worker had difficulty getting the register open.

Police searched the area and located a 55-year-old Little Rock man who matched the robber's description, the report said, noting surveillance video later revealed the man was not involved in the E-Z Mart attempted robbery.

But the man was found to be wanted on a warrant "from the Board of Parole for two counts of aggravated robbery and drug charges," police wrote. No information on those cases was included in the report.

No arrest was made in the E-Z Mart case. The would-be robber was said to stand 5 feet 8 inches tall and weigh 180 pounds. He was wearing a brown jacket, a green hoodie and black pants.
