HIGH TEA

Mansion opens up for Yuletide guests

First lady Susan Hutchinson hosted a Christmas Tea on Dec. 14 in the Great Hall of the Governor's Mansion.

Guests enjoyed hibiscus tea, coffee and a buffet of sweet and savory finger foods. They were welcomed by the first lady and Gov. Asa Hutchinson.

The theme for this year's Christmas decorations at the mansion was the ballet The Nutcracker. The room was elaborately decorated with giant nutcracker soldiers and a set from the ballet featuring a living room with twin curved staircases leading to a landing on the second story. The set, built by the mansion staff, provided a backdrop for the afternoon's entertainment, the Hot Springs Children's Dance Theatre Company, which performed portions of the ballet.
