Where I live: I live in Park Hill in North Little Rock. The house was called the Justin Matthews Jr. House and now I call it The Edgemont House since Park Hill was called originally Edgemont. I actually bought this historical house in June and did extensive work on the house since it was in such disrepair. The house is on the [National Register of Historic Places] and was built in 1927.

Occupation: Owner and head landscape designer of Botanica Gardens and Plantopia Home and Garden Center

My favorite space: I love my living room.

Why? To me the living room is the prettiest and most comfortable room in the house. I adore the front, three, large arched windows with the view of downtown Little Rock. The ceilings are high and there is a massive fireplace that I enjoy every night in the winter. I also wanted a house that had a sunken room and this room fits the bill. Plus, from all sides of the room, there is a beautiful view. The living room is open to the gallery hallway with three more arched windows and French doors, barrel ceilings and even a wonderful view of the dining room, which actually looks over the formal living room.

If I could make one change to improve this space, I would: Have had the three, front arched windows actually be French doors to the veranda out front.
