The bride is the daughter of Mary Katharyn and Ron Hope and the granddaughter of Barbara and Art Hope, all of Little Rock, and Avon Howell and the late William H. Howell, both of Stuttgart.

Parents of the bridegroom are Katie and Noel Dennis Gowan II of Pickens, S.C. His grandparents are Cynthia and Noel Dennis Gowan of Greenville, S.C., and Marie and the late James Mac Welborn, also of Pickens.

The chancel held a towering arrangement of blooming branches, gladioli, hydrangeas, Oriental lilies, garden roses and agapanthus in shades of white, ivory and blush. Music was by organist Robert Lindley.

Given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a strapless tulle ballgown. The bodice had a sweetheart neckline trimmed with floral lace and the skirt's scalloped lace hem extended to a sweep train. She carried a cascade of hydrangeas, peonies, garden roses, lisianthus and genistra in shades of ivory, cream and blush pink.

Rachel Hope Arnold of Little Rock served as her sister's matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Laura Allen, Kelsey Backus, Alison Bracy and Sophie Hollenberg, all also of Little Rock; Meredith Felts and Haley Ligon, both of Stuttgart; Elizabeth Frantz of Atlanta; Suzanne Gowan of Pickens, sister of the bridegroom; Kelsey Hawthorne of Dallas; Anna Simpson of Bryant; and Jamie Young of Fayetteville. They wore sleeveless black gowns of English netting with corded lace bodices. They carried bouquets of garden roses, hydrangeas and seeded eucalyptus.

The bridegroom's honor attendants were Murray Benton of Jonesboro and Carson Isaacs of Pickens. Groomsmen were Steve Campbell of Pickens, uncle of the bridegroom; Josh Crumpton of Newport, Mich.; Chad Harrelson of Burlington, N.C.; Daniel Kleine, Gardner Lile, Robert Moery and John Arthur Hope, brother of the bride, all of Little Rock; Michael Miller and George Miller, both of North Little Rock; and Hunter Jeter of Stuttgart. Guests were seated by Christopher Arnold and Adam Hope, cousin of the bride, both also of Little Rock.

After the ceremony there was a reception at Pavilion in the Park. Guest tables were centered with arrangements of towering blooming branches or tall glass vases filled with hydrangeas, roses, Oriental lilies and lisianthus in shades of white, ivory and blush. Assorted antique crystal chandeliers and Chinese lanterns lighted the atrium. Music was by The Party Jammers of Memphis.

The bride has a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in childhood education from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi. She is a first-grade teacher at Forest Heights Science Technology Engineering Mathematics Academy.

The bridegroom, also a UA graduate, has a bachelor's degree in business administration and was a member of Sigma Chi. He is an account manager for Altec.

The couple will make their home in Little Rock after a wedding trip to Banff and Lake Louise in Alberta, Canada.
