A Little Rock man was pronounced dead after being found shot multiple times in a car outside his residence, authorities said Monday.

Police were called at 11:08 p.m. Sunday to investigate shots fired on Wolfe Street in a neighborhood east of the Arkansas State Fairgrounds.

At a news conference Monday morning at police headquarters, spokesman Lt. Steve McClanahan identified the victim as 24-year-old Troy Langston. Langston, who had been shot multiple times, was inside a car that was parked in the yard of his home at 3000 Wolfe Street. He died at the scene.

McClanahan said authorities don't know the motive and have only "limited witness information."

"Oftentimes in cases like this, you find out that shootings like this aren't random in nature," he said, adding that the investigation is a "work in progress."

The killing is the fifth homicide in Little Rock so far this year.
