CHARLESTON -- Lamar coach Kevin Kyzer has been proud of what senior guard Zederick Lee has done all season long for the Warriors.
Lee stepped up again Saturday night to lead the way for Lamar in a 68-58 victory against Charleston in the championship game of the Class 3A Region 1 Tournament at the Tiger Center.

"Lee has been a great leader for us and he is making everybody around us better as well," Kyzer said. "He has really stepped up for us the last few weeks. I can't be more proud of him."
Lee finished with a game-high 22 points, including making seven of eight free throws in the fourth quarter to help hold the victory down the stretch.
Charleston took a 32-29 lead into halftime with a late scoring surge from Brandon Fenner. He was held scoreless until there was less than three minutes to play in the second quarter.
Fenner, the state record holder for most 3-point baskets, scored in bunches after hitting a 3-point basket for his first points of the game.
Fenner scored the Tiger's last seven points of the second quarter to help erase a 27-22 Lamar lead late in the first half.
But Lamar (26-5) took over in the third quarter, using an 18-5 run after a Charleston technical foul to take a 52-43 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
The Warriors didn't look back after that.
"No doubt we played well in that third quarter," Kyzer said. "We did a better job running our offense in that quarter. With these guys it isn't always pretty, but they play hard for you."
Lamar made 8 of 14 field-goal attempts in the third quarter while Charleston made just 5 of 11 attempts from the field.
"They got on us a little bit there," Charleston coach B.J. Ross said. "We were on the opposite end of some calls. Either way I'm not going to argue about that. We missed too many shots, and they made them. That's what happened there."
Charleston (21-10) was able to cut the fourth-quarter lead to 57-51 with a dunk from senior Phillip Hampton. But the Tigers were outscored 11-7 down the stretch as Lamar pulled away.
"This group brings it night after night," Kyzer said. "We might not have a good shooting night, but we will find a way to win the game. It's a really tough bunch right now going into state."
The loss snapped an 11-game winning streak for Charleston, but Ross said his team feels good heading into the 3A state tournament.
"We have won a bunch of games in a row," Ross said. "Sometimes it's good to get beat heading into the state tournament. It can be a thing that isn't bad for you. We are going to embrace it and move on."
Lamar's Albert Boyce scored 16 points, Christian Beeman added 13 and Porter Anderson had 10 to help the well-balanced Warrior offense.
Fenner led the way for Charleston with a team-high 15 points. Hampton also added 12 for the Tigers.
Charleston build a 10-6 lead early with the help of an 8-0 run in the first quarter. Lamar battled back to cut the lead to 14-13 heading into the second quarter.
The Warriors took a 19-14 lead scoring the first six points of the second quarter before the Tigers closed out the first half strong to take back the lead.
"We just hung in there and took care of what we needed to," Kyzer said. "We were able to come back and score a few more points in the second half."
Girls
Lamar 64, Jessieville 55 (OT)
Jessieville senior Kellie Lampo made the back end of two free-throw attempts to send the game to overtime, but Lamar pulled away in the extra time.
Jessieville was held scoreless in overtime, missing two free-throw attempts and three field goals while turning the ball over three times.
Madison Wyles opened overtime with a 3-point basket for Lamar. The Lady Warriors didn't look back after that to win the Class 3A Region 1 Tournament at the Tiger Center.
Wyles led the way, scoring a team-high 20 points. Freshman guard Lakyn Sanders also had 16 and Sarah Ross added 10 points for the Lady Warriors.
Lampo scored a game-high 25 points for Jessieville despite playing in foul trouble throughout the game. She picked up three fouls in the first quarter. Lampo fouled out with two minutes, 27 seconds left in overtime.
Faith Bratton scored 15 points, while Makayla Wilson finished with 12 points for the Lady Lions.
Jessieville took a 25-23 lead into halftime with the help of a 12-4 run to close out the second quarter.
Lamar scored the last four points of the first quarter to take a 15-11 lead after the initial quarter of the game.
The Lady Warriors pushed its advantage out to 19-13 early in the second quarter before Jessieville made its late first-half run.
Lamar turned the ball over just eight times while Jessieville finished with 28 in the game.

Girls
Greenland 61, Charleston 44
Greenland bounced back a day after a loss to gain some momentum heading into the Class 3A state tournament.
The Lady Pirates used strong performances from McKayla Redmond, who had a game-high 20 points, and Saphire Osburn, who added 17.
Redmond made five 3-pointers in the game and got the offense going early with two in the first quarter of the game.
Hattie Newhart scored a team-high 13 points for Charleston (19-11). Jada McDowell also added 12.
Osburn scored just two points in the first quarter but got it going quickly after that finishing with six of the team's eight second-quarter points.
Boys
Paris 66, Jessieville 61
Kris Graham scored a team-high 16 points to lead the way for the Eagles (23-9). Tyler Atchison and Preston Drewry had 12 points each, while Talik Robinson and Nate Davidson added 10 apiece.
Jessieville (22-10) was led by Alex Burleson's game-high 22 points. Dylan Anderson, Sawyer Lamb and Steven Benson all added 10 points each for the Lions.
Jessieville was able to take a slim 16-15 lead after the first quarter before Paris tied the game at 27-27 at halftime.
Paris then outscored Jessieville 15-11 in the third quarter and held on to pull away with the victory in the final quarter.
