Don’t tease us

Word came down last week that our long, not-so-national traffic nightmare might soon be over. The new Broadway Bridge is almost ready to open for business!

Some of us who work in downtown Little Rock have been surprised at how nice everybody’s been during the months-long bottleneck. Folks haven’t been nearly as horn-crazy as we expected. And the horns that we’ve mostly heard have been friendly horns. “Beep-beep, you go ahead.” At least we think. (It’s been a while since the driver’s ed class on horn interpretation.)

The company that built and placed the bridge is said to be in the running for a big bonus, getting the bridge put up so quick. Mother Nature should get a cut.

One request, though: Don’t tease us. Let’s get the bridge opened and get things moving again. Before folks get mad.
