Between Party's revelry rounds out holiday cheer

What do you do when you're between Christmas and New Year's, but you don't want any lull in your scarfing, sipping or schmoozing? You hope you get an invitation to the annual Between Party, thrown by Eric McDaniel and Dr. Chad Rodgers. The couple have become known for helping holiday revelers to avoid losing their party momentum during the interlude between two of the biggest days on the calendar.

McDaniel and Rodgers once again filled the void with their latest Between Party, which took place Dec. 28 in their large Hillcrest house in Little Rock. Bonnie Kelley, McDaniel's mother and next-door neighbor to him and Rodgers, assisted the couple as hostess. A melting pot of who's-who-in-Little-Rock guests first trickled, then poured in to partake of pizza from Damgoode Pies, assorted dessert delicacies and beer and wine, along with a special treat -- Philippine-style lumpia, brought by Joann "JoJo" Sims. When elbow room inside got scarce, guests took the party out to the patio, which was warmed by an outdoor fireplace.

This event has become known for dancing on the table ... a somehow fitting show of joy at having something to do during what, in the United Kingdom, is referred to as "Twixmas." Later that evening, certain attendees did not disappoint.
