Board to visit new Springdale campus

Members of the School Board for the Pulaski County Special School District will go together to Springdale today to check out the Springdale School District's newly constructed School of Innovation campus.

Leaders in the Pulaski County Special district are exploring the possibility of establishing their own school of innovation.

Such schools are characterized by flexible scheduling and an instructional program that is a blend of traditional classroom and online instruction with an emphasis on the use of technology systems. The schools allow for self-paced, project-based learning to accelerate student achievement.

Pulaski County Special board members and district administrators will leave at 7 a.m. from Maumelle High School to go to Springdale, and then return to Little Rock by about 5 p.m.
