Rick Lee's Oaklawn Park selections and analysis

POST TIME 12:35 p.m.

LEE'S LOCK Chanteline in the sixth

BEST BET Will Gracie Shine in the third.

LONG SHOT Rage Riot in the fourth

1 Purse $26,000, 6 Furlongs, Fillies, 3-year-olds, Maiden Claiming $25,000

DRIP BREW tired inside the final furlong after contesting the pace in an extended sprint at Churchill, and she is cutting back in distance, dropping in class and switching to one of the country's best young riders. SLICK RED OIL lost a clear lead in deep stretch when second best at Churchill. She takes a slight class jump, but trainer Chris Hartman is very good at spotting horses. BOARDROOM DRAMA was forwardly placed before fading in a two-turn debut against better at Remington Park, and she shows improvement in her works at Oaklawn and veteran Luis Quinonez is a "go-to" rider for this barn.

OUR DOC TANNER scored two victories in four Oaklawn starts last season, and the class dropper is back in the barn of trainer Al Cates after two dull performances this fall at Indiana. RUNAROUNDDANCING has not raced since August, but she was a maiden sprint winner last March at Oaklawn, and the lightly raced 7-year-old is consistently competitive and sports good recent workouts. COMMAND A BULL returns fresh after defeating a non-winners-of-2 field by 7 lengths at Thistledown in Ohio, and he does pick up a high-percentage rider.

WILL GRACIE SHINE won 5 of her 11 career races in 2016, and the front-running mare exits a clear second-place finish at Turfway. Blinkers are being added by new trainer Dave Vance, who gives the riding assignment to Jose Ortiz. LUVTHATMUSTANG may not have cared for the tight turns as a beaten favorite at Delta, but her previous race was a strong third-place finish at a higher level at Keeneland, and she represents a winning stable. YOOOU DEN is only a photo-finish loss from having won her three in a row at Remington, and she is a two-time winner in Hot Springs.

RAGE RIOT is cutting his claiming price in half after four solid races at Remington, and his one published work at Oaklawn was the fastest 5-furlong work of the morning, and he handles a wet track if the situation arises. STRUT N SWAGGER was beaten a head while 6 lengths clear of third in a sharp sprint last month at Remington. But he is back at a preferred distance for high-percentage connections, but the post is a difficult one at the 1-mile distance. CRUACHAN did not have the best of trips in a recent third-place finish at Hawthorne, and the one-run closer drew a favorable inside post and keeps his regular rider.

HALF DOME DUDE was a decisive winner of his first start last spring at Oaklawn, and the five-time winner in 2016 exits an impressive sprint victory last month at Remington for a stable has had plenty of local success over the past couple of seasons. ITSALLABOUTYOU is riding a four-race winning streak for winning connections, and he earned the field's fastest last race Beyer figure, but could be compromised from his inside post. MIDAS DANCER finished 2016 on a two-race winning streak at Indiana, his recent workouts appear good and he scored a 5-length victory in his return to Oaklawn last January.

CHANTELINE has not raced since scoring a wire-to-wire second-level allowance victory last April at Oaklawn, but she has been working fast and often in New Orleans, and she may be able to control the pace. MARQUEE MISS was shown no pari-mutuel respect when winning the 2016 Martha Washington and Dixie Belle at big odds, and she ships from Turfway after winning a sprint stake last month at 21-1 odds. ATHENA was a stakes winner last summer at Churchill, and she returns to the region after a stakes-placed finish last month a Laurel, and she is the one to fear inside the final furlong.

ZIP VAN WINKLE was floated very wide on the turn in a deceptively encouraging career debut at Aqueduct, and he is bred to improve at two-turn distances. The addition of blinkers is a high-percentage move for this stable. CLEARLY SUPER finished a solid fourth in a fast maiden race at Churchill, and he received a confidence lift when the winner returned to win a stake at Fair Grounds. DILETTANTE raced close to the lead in a clear second-place finish at 1 mile at Churchill, which earned the fastest Beyer figure, and he is switching to Hall of Fame rider Calvin Borel.

8 The Fifth Season. Purse $125,000, 1 1/16 Miles, 4-year-olds and up

INSIDE STRAIGHT followed a second-level allowance victory at Remington with a narrow loss in the Zia Park Derby. He is a steadily improving runner who appears to do his best running under today's rider and has an improved chance if the track is wet. CHIEF OF STAFF has been earning competitive Beyer figures while competing in allowance races at Santa Anita, and he ships from the strong barn of Jerry Hollendorfer and is a threat in a wide-open stake. SMACK SMACK can reach $1 million in earnings with a victory today, and he has finished no worse than second in five consecutive stakes, but he is winless in five tries at Oaklawn.

DYNAMIC IMPACT is clearly the class of the field with earnings exceeding $400k, and he is dropping to his lowest level after three solid races in Kentucky. Two previous races at Oaklawn were good efforts. HOLY BULLEX is moving up a claiming condition after a 13-length victory at Hawthorne, and he possesses good early speed and may be an overlay. INCOMING has his claiming price cut in half after a 3-length defeat at Remington, and he was claimed out of the race by a sharp stable and any kind of improvement puts him close at the wire
