Work on overpass to close I-49 lanes

Construction on Interstate 49 requires overnight, alternating lane closures on New Hope Road in Rogers for two days beginning Wednesday, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

Crews working on the I-49 overpass at New Hope will require the eastbound and westbound inside and outside lanes to be alternately closed on New Hope between South Pinnacle Hills Parkway and South 46th Street from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. both days, weather permitting. Advance warning signs will direct traffic flow, the department said.

The work is part of a $38.7 million project to widen five miles of I-49 to six lanes from four between Arkansas 264 in Lowell and New Hope. It is expected to be completed later this year, the department said.
