The Rogers Fire Department, Beaver Lake Fire Department, Benton County Division of Public Safety and Piney Point Fire Department responded to a call at 4:41 p.m. Friday about one or two people drowning at 11045 War Eagle Road.

Motsinger said at least two teenagers were playing around the water and the girl became distressed.

The girl's mother, Kristi Wylie, 31, got into the water to help the girl, Motsinger said, but both went underwater.

Bystanders pulled Wylie out of the water and one gave her CPR until emergency workers arrived, Motsinger said. She was taken to a local hospital.

A man and another teenage girl were both safe on shore.

Motsinger said the water was not swift or higher than usual.

"This is actually very rare that we get calls out here, very rare," Motsinger said.
