2 Christian rock acts to play Magic Springs venue

A pair of Christian rock acts will perform Saturday -- Stars Go Dim at 7 p.m. and for King & Country at 8 p.m. -- in Timberwood Amphitheater at Magic Springs Theme and Water Park in Hot Springs. Season tickets (plus tax) are $69.99; adult one-day tickets are $54.99; and tickets for children under 48 inches tall and those age 55 and up are $36.99. Reserved seats are an additional $10 or $8. Parking is $10.

Stars Go Dim, based in Oklahoma, began as a side project of the band Pillar. The group released an independent album, Love Gone Mad, in 2009 and later signed with Fervent Records, which released the band's self-titled major label debut in October 2015.

For King & Country is a duo of Australian brothers, Joel and Luke Smallbone, who originally called themselves Joel & Luke, then Austoville. Now based in Nashville, Tenn., the brothers (whose sister is Christian rock singer Rebecca St. James) have released two albums: Crave in 2012 and Run Wild. Live Free. Live Strong in 2014 (the album won two Grammy Awards in 2015).

The duo has won four Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. American Songwriter magazine has described them as "Australia's answer to Coldplay."

Sawyer Fredericks along with opening acts Gabriel Wolfchild & The Northern Light and Haley Johnsen, will perform at 9 p.m. Friday at Stickyz Rock 'n' Roll Chicken Shack. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 the day of the show. A $2 surcharge for minors will be assessed.

Fredericks, 18, is a singer-songwriter who won the 2015 competition on the reality TV series The Voice. He won $100,000 and a recording contract with Republic Records, which released Fredericks' self-titled EP in November 2015 and his full album, A Good Storm, in May 2016.

His opening acts are also alumni of TV show competitions: Wolfchild and The Northern Light from The Voice and Johnsen from American Idol.

Jon Wolfe, along with opening act Michael Johnson, will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 the day of the show.

Wolfe, an Oklahoma native, is a country singer-songwriter now based in Austin, Texas. He released his debut album, Almost Gone, in 2004, and has since released five more albums, the most recent of which, Any Night in Texas, was released June 16.

Indie Music Night will be held at 9 p.m. today at the Rev Room in Little Rock. Admission is $5.

The Schwag will perform, along with opening act Molly Adamson, at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $12.

The Schwag is a tribute band devoted to the music of the Grateful Dead.

Sweany is an Ohio-based blues rocker who has released 11 albums; several of which have been produced by Hot Springs born-and-raised Joe. V. McMahon, who is now a noted producer in Nashville.

Sean Fresh & the Nasty Fresh Crew, along with DJ Nick Hud, will perform at 9 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5.

Okilly Dokilly, according to its website, is a metal band from Phoenix that plays "Nedal" music, which the band defines as "themed around the animated character Ned Flanders from the television series The Simpsons."

The Brian Nahlen Band will perform at 10 p.m. Friday. Admission is $7.

The Mike Dillon Band will perform at 10 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $25.
