A vital piece of Springdale Har-Ber's highly touted defense will not take the field with the Wildcats this fall.

All-state senior linebacker Oliver Nasilai has moved from Springdale and is no longer part of the program, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette learned Friday. Nasilai led Har-Ber with 61 tackles and 14 tackles for loss in 2016.

On June 14, the star linebacker committed to Brigham Young University, the first school to extend an offer last fall. He also held Division I offers from Air Force and the University of Central Arkansas.

Nasilai moved to the Hot Springs area, Har-Ber football coach Chris Wood confirmed Friday. Har-Ber is competing in the national 7-on-7 tournament in Hoover, Ala., this weekend. Wood did not have any further comment. Multiple attempts to reach Nasilai on Friday were unsuccessful.

In his two seasons with Har-Ber, he tallied 128 tackles, seven sacks and 20 tackles for loss. Nasilai was named All-NWADG Defensive Player of the Year in 2016.
