• "Little Puss" Farabee was arrested last night at Third and Louisiana streets by Patrolmen Martineau and Haynie on a charge of vagrancy. He was taken to police headquarters and locked up, but afterwards was released when a friend put up a cash bond of $50 for his appearance in Municipal Court this morning. The police have been given a list of a dozen or more Little Rock men who are said to have no employment, spending a greater part of their time around pool halls.

• Four hundred passengers on a Missouri Pacific Lines train were stranded at Little Rock early today as strikes were called against eight major railroads. The bulk of the country's copper production was also shut off by a walkout of 3700 union members. The passengers arrived at Little Rock's Union Station at 12:10 a.m. today aboard the Texas Eagle No. 1, southbound from St. Louis to points in Texas. The train crew refused to continue the run because of a picket line set up by members of the machinists union.

FORT SMITH -- Parents of an 11-year-old girl found slain two months ago in Oklahoma are complaining that authorities won't tell them how or when their daughter may have died. The body of Mandy Craig was found May 22 in a park in Chouteau, about 120 miles from her home in Fort Smith. Authorities said she disappeared May 20 walking home from school. "I'll never forget her getting ready for school that day," her mother, Frances Posey, said.

• State police officials continued their investigation Sunday into the accident on U.S. 425 that killed a 26-year-old state prison employee and her four children Saturday afternoon. LaKetria Wells and her four children, whose ages ranged from 2 to 7, were headed south on the highway in their Toyota Camry about 12:15 p.m. Roy Lee Jordan, 57, was driving north in a tractor-trailer. About four miles south of Pine Bluff, Jordan's rig crossed the center line into southbound traffic, hitting Wells' Camry and killing everyone inside. Trooper Oscar Bullard Jr. responded to the call from drivers who had witnessed the wreck, which occurred between Pine Bluff and Star City. He said the impact from the head-on collision left little of the car.
