BIRTHDAY PAW-TY

Puppy love filled the House as 'director of smiles' hit 3

Guests were promised a dog-gone good time at a birthday party Tuesday at the Ronald McDonald House for 3-year-old Mac. The fluffy golden-doodle is on staff as director of smiles at the home away from home for children receiving treatment at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

While the calm and friendly house mascot made the rounds greeting guests, partygoers, including families staying at the house, were treated to cake, ice cream and cupcakes decorated to look like pups. Mac had a dog-friendly cake of his own.

As with any birthday party, games were included. Kids could play ring toss and a feed-the-dog bean bag game for prizes. There was a station to make a card for Mac, and a photo booth and selfie area with fun props where kids big and small could have their photo made with Mac and Ronald McDonald.

Among those attending were hospital staff members, volunteers, restaurant owners and Ronald McDonald House Charities of Arkansas board members.
