A 57-year-old Arkansas officer has died from injuries he sustained in a single-vehicle wreck over the weekend, authorities said.

Lt. Mark Bradley was involved in a crash early Saturday, the White Hall Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

“News of his passing has brought much pain to our department, family and friends abroad,” the police department said.

Bradley's law enforcement career began in 1988 at the Jefferson County sheriff's office, according to a statement. He then went on to work for the Pine Bluff Police Department and later White Hall police.

"Many of us here new Mark personally, and his respect and knowledge in public safety was well-recognized among all that knew him," Jefferson County Sheriff Gerald Robinson said.

Bradley's funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Watson Chapel Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, according to a later Facebook post.
